In the half-time round of the women’s football championship championship, Roma celebrate their second consecutive title. Juventus’ defeat at home against Inter (2-0 for the Nerazzurri) in fact handed over the Scudetto to the Giallorossi who, after failing to score their first match point last Saturday at Viola Park against Fiorentina, were therefore crowned Italian champions for the second season in a row in this round of the championship, without playing.
In fact, the gap of eleven points from the leaders can no longer be filled by Juve, taking into account the fact that between now and the end of the Poule Scudetto the Bianconere have three more games and therefore a maximum of nine points available.
“I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Roma and to the players – is the comment of the president of the Professional Women’s Serie A Division, Federica Cappelletti – who have demonstrated commitment, consistency and determination since the first championship match, in Italy and on the international field.
Congratulations to the staff and to Mr. Spugna, who was able to prepare them with great professionalism and vision, and congratulations to the entire club, a virtuous example for Italian football and for the women’s movement.”
“The team was the protagonist of an exciting season continues Cappelletti -, carried out with sacrifice, determination and talent, involving more and more spectators and catalysing the interest of the media. The conquest of the scudetto four days before the end of the championship it is the culmination of a journey built and a deserved success.”
