Salernitana’s ordeal ends, with the defeat in Ciociaria comes the arithmetic relegation. Frosinone started well in the first half and broke the deadlock in the 10th minute with Soulé converting the penalty won by Valeri after a foul by Sambia. In the 25th minute Brescianini doubled the lead on the counterattack following an assist from Valeri. In the 38th minute a goal against Vignato was disallowed. At the start of the second half another goal against the Campania region was canceled out, this time in Ikwuemesi. The Granata try but are imprecise in front of goal. In the final the former Zortea puts the seal for the 3-0.
Salernitana has little to ask of its championship, while by obtaining a point or a victory Frosinone would be outside the relegation zone for at least one night. Great atmosphere at the Stirpe for the Frosinone fans who are hoping for three points to relaunch the race for salvation. Salernitana, which is in Serie B if it doesn’t win, doesn’t want to be a sacrificial victim. Soulè dangerous immediately, ball deflected out. In the 8th minute Sambia belts Valeri in the area and the referee awards the penalty: from the spot Soulè displaces Costil, 1-0. The Granata defender was booked on the occasion. In the 24th minute Ciociaro counterattacked and Brescianini struck for the 2-0. Coulibaly tries to make sense of the Ciociaria trip, the ball goes out. Cheddira, always on the restart, was closed at the last minute. Tchaouna controls well but shoots too quickly. Vignato also gives Turati shivers. Yellow also for Pierozzi. In Salernitana outside Pierozzi inside Pasalidis. Frosinone sends their second goalkeeper Cerofolini for the injured Turati. Salernitana started well with Ikwuemesi in the mix and deposited in the net but there was a foul by Fazio. Zanoli enters for Sambia in the Campania region. Di Francesco inserts Bonifazi for Lirola. Gomis comes on for Vignato who comes close to making it 2-1. Cuni in for Cheddira and Monterisi for Okoli in the Lazio team. Salernitana tries more with nerves than anything else: first Pirola then Tchaouna still dangerous. On the counterattack the former Zortea closes the score. Gelli enters for Mazzitelli in the yellow and blue.
