Around 1.30pm today a man was stabbed a few steps from the center of Castelnuovo Rangone, precisely at the intersection of via Montanara and via Casette Zanasi. The victim is 37-year-old Jaouad Dejli, a man of North African origins, with an Italian wife and three children. Jaouad would have been hit following an argument that started in a building and then culminated in the street with the injury.
The 118 health workers immediately rushed to the scene with an ambulance and a medical vehicle to provide aid to the victim. The man, in his thirties, suffered a very deep injury and attempts to save his life were of no avail: he died during transport to the Baggiovara hospital.
The Carabinieri were also brought to the scene for all the investigations and to reconstruct what happened, and then to track down the attacker. At the moment the police are evaluating the position of some people who have been stopped and who appear to be involved in the incident.
It would appear that the brother of one of the attackers, who the Carabinieri are investigating, called for help.
