What match are you expecting at Via del Mare?
“The ranking would lead me to think of a calm match between two teams who, by virtue of their more or less calm positions, will not want to hurt each other. But we have gotten to know the two coaches over the years and therefore I expect an “over” match, therefore with two free teams who will play for pride”.
How do you judge the Monza and Lecce championships today? Do you think they will achieve their respective goals?
“Monza had an extraordinary championship from start to finish. They may also end up with fewer points than last year, but the season overall is still better than last in terms of quality of play and regularity of results. Lecce, on the other hand, had lost their way after a good start, Gotti brought serenity back to a team that was perhaps losing confidence after a period of disarray. But Lecce’s season is still positive and they can end it on a high note.”
In the red and white house in this period we are perhaps talking more about the future than the present. What are the prospects between the bench and ownership?
“In May there will be the closing for the transfer of the majority of the shares to the Orienta group. This is an important investor who can maintain high standards, but the doubt is whether Galliani will remain or not, an institution that Monza absolutely must retain. However, it will be difficult to keep Palladino on the bench, who is out of contract and has important teams behind him. At the moment I would say that 80% goes away and 20% remains.”
How should the Brianza team take the field against the Giallorossi?
“Akpa Akpro should return to midfield in the 4-2-3-1 together with Bondo with Gagliardini on the bench after the last test which was a little dull. I expect a confirmed trocar with Zerbin, Colpani and Pessina behind the striker Djuric. In defence, however, the block remains Pablo Marì, Izzo, Andrea Carboni and Birindelli.
