CREMONA – On Facebook he introduces himself like this: Alessandro Rebecchi, born on 18 June 1980, Apc education, commercial salesman, city of origin Novi di Modena, current city Cremona. Politically, die-hard fan of Ferruccio Giovetti, the geriatric doctor candidate for mayor with the civic list ‘Giovetti Sicurezza e Buonsenso per Cremona’, located within the centre-right perimeter. Rebecchi, very well informed, wants him mayor.
On social media he makes “electoral rants” to him. The good thing is that Giovetti and his men don’t know who he is: «We suspect he is a troll». Giovetti is amused. But there is one thing that, however, irritated him. In the social squabble, lor annoyed by the response of Alessandro Portesani, candidate for mayor of the centre-right, to the ‘suspected troll’. The answer: «There are no other centre-right candidates in Cremona. All the votes for ‘his’ list are votes that go straight to the centre-left, as in 2019…”.
Giovetti doesn’t fit. And he grooms Portesani: «It’s nonsense, first of all because five years ago, as is well known, I went alone, I didn’t make any connections either with the centre-right or with the centre-left. I believe that many of my people on the ballot went to the seaside and those who went to the polls will have voted according to their own sensibilities.”
Second point: «The only one who has been talking here and there at this moment is Portesani himself. So, where does the controversy come from? There is no proof that in 2019 Giovetti brought votes to the center-left. This is unpleasant. Evidently, Portesani is losing his nerve, he is nervous, he is talking nonsense. I haven’t made any comparisons, now as then. Even now, my goal, my horizon is June 8-9, the first round. Not more than. Then, eventually, he will talk about it, but Portesani cannot afford to say these things. It was him who knocked here and there, I remained with my list planted in the centre-right which does not need to deal with the centre-left or even with the rest of the right, because we go our own way”.
The mystery of the “suspicious troll” remains who put the logo of Giovetti’s civic list as an image on the social network. With an addition: a little heart at the bottom. «She declared to me all her love for her…», laughs Giovetti.
