The Pantaleo Podio Volley Fasano on the difficult Gesancom Marsala pitch to continue the playoff dream
The final rush of this second round begins in Marsala for the girls of Pantaleo Podio Volley Fasano to try to conquer the third overall position in the standings which would be worth access to the promotion playoffs. Very important match in this sense against Gesancom Marsala, direct competitor for that last place in the sun, which only a week ago in Teramo suffered a resounding and surprising defeat. A result that has relaunched coach Paolo Totero’s gialloblù team in the standings, now five points ahead of the Sicilian team. “Going to play in Marsala – says Totero – is very complicated. We will face a very strong roster built to seek the final victory but which during the season has suffered ups and downs like all the teams in this group E. We know that their defeat in Teramo is just an accident along the way and which takes nothing away from their real value and the beautiful path they are trying to complete. As far as we are concerned, the week went smoothly with the total recovery of the entire roster in anticipation of a match that could be decisive for the top positions in the rankings. However, all this must not distract us from the final objective which is to play a match to the maximum of our potential as we have done in all the matches of this second round”.
In the first leg played at the Salvemini in Fasano, the Sicilians won with a clear 3-0 at the end of one of the worst matches played by the Fasano yellow and blue teams. Roster trained by coach Francesco Campisi and made up of a group of players of absolute value such as Mariachiara Norgini, Simona Galiero, Barbara Varaldo, Alice Gasparroni and Giorgia Silotto. Athletes of absolute value capable of winning against any opponent, even more so if faced within the walls of their home. A complicated match therefore for Valentina Barbolini and her teammates who, after the internal walk against Crotone, had to face technical difficulties and
logistics of a very complicated and decisive race for a season finale that promises to be anything but easy.
The match will be played on Saturday 27 April 2024 on the parquet of the Palasport San Carlo in Marsala starting at 5.30 pm and will be directed by Andrea Bonzanni and Clarissa Cassone.
