On Saturday 27 April, at 5.30 pm, Roberta Gatani, niece of judge Paolo Borsellino, will present her book Fifty-Seven Days at the Sala della Vaccara in Perugia. I’ll take you with me to Paolo’s house (Edizioni Iod), a work that retraces every single day that passed between 23 May and 19 July 1992, a very dense period of work for Borsellino, who, knowing that his hours were numbered, without ever thinking of escaping his destiny, he deployed all his strength and will to shed light on the Capaci massacre, noting every detail of that investigation in his red diary.

The meeting – with free admission while places last, is organized and promoted by the Red Agenda Movement, Umberto Mormile Group, Perugia and Trasimeno – will see the participation, together with the author, of Francesca Conti Candori, coordinator of the Perugia circle of ‘Liberty and Justice association, Nicodemo Gentile, president of the Penelope Italia association, Brizio Montinaro, brother of Antonio (member of Giovanni Falcone’s escort, victim of the Capaci attack in 1992), Stefano Mormile, brother of Umberto (murdered by the ‘ ndrangheta in Carpiano, in the province of Milan, in 1990) and Angela Romano, of the Red Agenda Movement Directorate.

Roberta Gatani, author of the book, has been responsible for La Casa di Paolo since 2016, founded together with her uncle Salvatore Borsellino, a solid project that came to life in the premises of the former “Farmacia Borsellino”, in the working-class neighborhood of Kalsa in Palermo, dealing with various activities such as after-school activities with children and teenagers, training, cultural trips. These are the premises of the historic Borsellino family pharmacy, located on the ground floor of the building where judge Paolo Borsellino was born.
