During a press conference, mayoral candidate Bruno Ceschini presented the candidates and candidates who support him. A competent and motivated group: half women, half men, with different professional skills, Italian and German native speakers. «I am very proud of our team, there is the right mix of experience and innovation» commented Bruno Ceschini, former deputy mayor of Laives.

Ten programmatic points to restart Laives, from interventions on mobility to limit traffic which enormously penalizes the quality of life of residents, to social and health challenges to guarantee support for those who struggle and those who are not well, up to an urban redevelopment attentive to the consumption of the territory, environmental sustainability and the needs of families and businesses. Social issues are fundamental for Team K, but in the awareness that wealth must first be generated and then redistributed and that therefore the economic world must be listened to and supported. Concerns about environmental sustainability are dramatically serious and every territory, large or small, must do its part to protect the environment, at a local and global level: urban planning, mobility, cultural awareness must be taken care of in view of this objective. The promotion of participation is important, but it would remain a dead letter without true transparency in the management of public affairs, it is one of the ways to give substance to democracy.

«The Laives we want is very far from the label of dormitory city: we want it to be more and more beautiful, vital, liveable» the candidates and the candidates argue in unison. In this sense the issue of mobility is decisive. «Despite the interventions, internal traffic is still very intense and with the continuous expansion of the city it will continue to grow – claims Bruno Ceschini -. For this reason, it will be important to review the Urban Mobility Plan and seek better coordination with the Province and neighboring municipalities to manage traffic flows. It is necessary to accelerate with sustainable mobility projects, starting with the completion of cycle paths and evaluating the possibility of implementing circular lines with shuttle buses.” Speaking of the “beauty” of the city, «renderings were published on the redevelopment of via Kennedy years ago. We must move forward – says Ceschini – and we must pay attention to the issue of land consumption, we owe it to future generations: building on buildings cannot be just a slogan but a precise commitment.»

And again on social and health care, list leader and doctor Walther Clementi speaks clearly: «Social and health services, retirement homes… The municipal councilor must have a more active and incisive role in relations with the Province. The future challenges in these areas promise to be very complex, given the demographic trend, while real long-term planning is often lacking in social services. It is necessary to “create” community, so that public bodies, third sectors, volunteers and families are able to cooperate in an effective and economically sustainable way. The structures are there, but they need to be increasingly networked.»

Nominees and candidates: Walther Clementi, Valentina Princigalli, Elmar Webber, Marina Munerato, Clara Diciomma, Alessandro Zuech, Katia Trevisani, Alessandro Beati
