As per consolidated practice this season, with a few exceptions, the Avellino players were also banned from traveling to Taranto, so the absence of visiting fans emptied the match of any meaning from the point of view of the match. Coming then to the hosts, sold out the North Curve which was very full in every seating order. All the tickets that could be sold in the hot sector of the Ionian fans were pulverised, in addition to the approximately 4,500 spectators located here, in the rest of the stadium the notable figure of 8,000 spectators was almost reached, 7,410 to be precise, still important numbers and which few they would be expected in this not entirely peaceful period in the rossoblù house. In good times and even more so in bad times, as the most famous promise of love states, the Taranto fans respond in short.
Ten years of the “Ultras Tamburi” were celebrated in the curve, an expression of the neighborhood of the same name which, for the occasion, set up a choreography with a flag bearing its symbol, accompanied by various torches, flashing lights and smoke bombs. Very simple but beautiful.
Good match on the pitch, very close, which inevitably influenced the mood and support from the stands. In the end, Taranto won 1-0, scoring right under the curve from which a roar was released, the likes of which they hadn’t heard for a long time. The cheering was a little more complicated in the rest of the match, when the many presences today made coordination very complicated on the part of the 4-5 choir launchers scattered along the sector, sometimes in difficulty in the face of such a mass of people perhaps not really used to active participation in the support offered by the ultras. For the rest, however, the singing support was good, usually a nice sight deriving from the many flags constantly waved, while in the stands, paradoxically, the presence of the group located there was paradoxically a little less than usual, but the square they form was no less compact and perhaps by virtue of being able to count on a well-tested and close-knit crew, they show off the best performance of the season.
At the final whistle, the team celebrated under the Curva per Mathematics wins the playoffs from which they start, among other things, in a good position. There remains regret for the penalty, which (or rather, in the absence of which) could have created even better scenarios. Sunday, last stage of the regular season in Latina and then off to this infinite and tortuous queue from which it is legitimate not to expect great things, given the complicated formula, but it is equally legitimate to never lose hope, as this place has always done.
