Only one match left with Robur one step away from the record: against Nuova Foiano, coach Lamberto Magrini’s boys could end the Eccellenza championship undefeated. Match after match, the Bianconeri made no concessions and after last Sunday, which led Siena to play again at the Franchi, now, there is this last piece to be fixed to close a perfect circle. This time, midfielder Alessio Cristiani presented the match.

“We have reached the end and the desire to achieve this goal is great – comments Cristiani -. Our opponents won’t give us any concessions, but if we enter the field as we have done from the start I’m sure we’ll be able to score points. When you have reached this point it is also important to have fun and entertain: it is important to play carefree, without ever losing focus on what we have to do. In all the seasons I have played I have always managed to score; therefore, I also hope that Sunday will be the right time, given that I haven’t managed to score yet this year.”

For the midfielder born in 1989, the second half of the season was very complicated. Cristiani, in fact, was out of action for a long time due to injury and this did not allow him to fully express his technical qualities. Despite the difficulties, however, as Cristiani himself confirmed, the season was very positive thanks to a united group, which led to the growth of every single member of the team.

“Unfortunately, I was out for a good period – explains Cristiani – and I’m very sorry about this. However, I am very happy with the results obtained and above all with having formed a strong bond with my teammates. Furthermore, being among the most experienced, it was wonderful to see all the younger members of the squad grow exponentially, who always listened to what was said and were even better at putting the advice into practice. Siena is now a home for me: I feel comfortable here and I have bonded with the square, therefore, it will be a season that I will not forget.”

So, all that remains is to wait to see what the Bianconeri will offer. The match is scheduled for 3pm at the Pini stadium.
