With a union ordinance, the mayor Clemente Mastella has provided for the possibility of turning on the thermal heating systems until midnight on May 5, 2024.
The Municipality of Benevento falls, in fact, in the climatic zone “C”, which provides for the period of operation of the heating systems for “10 hours per day from 15 November to 31 March”; however, article 5 of Presidential Decree number 74 of 2013 gives the Mayors, in the face of proven needs, the power to increase or decrease the annual periods of operation and the daily duration of switching on of the heating systems. Therefore, taking into account the sharp drop in temperatures which is causing a climatic anomaly in this period, the optional switching on of the heating systems is ordered with immediate effect and until midnight on 5 May 2024, providing for the operation of the same systems for a maximum daily operating limit of 5 hours, in the time slot from 5.00 to 23.00, respecting the obligation not to exceed the internal air temperature limits of the rooms 18°C + 2°C tolerance for buildings used for industrial, artisanal and similar activities and 20°C +2°C tolerance for other buildings; the Mayor also invites citizens to take conscious action in the management of heating systems, as well as to rational use of electrical sources in order to achieve the greatest possible energy savings.
