Second day of entry fees and visitors, with the start of the weekend, are invading Venice. TO noon on Friday 26 April i they were almost booked 107 thousandof which half are “staying”, i.e. tourists who will sleep in the city in one of the many accommodation facilities in the historic center and on the mainland.
The debut of the ticket in Venice: the numbers of the first reservations
Among the other 50 thousand, 19,621 are commuter workers and 12,700 students. The number of second home owners remains stable (5,300). And they increase daytripperthe hikers, who reached an altitude of 22 thousand. “It was known that for the 26th the bookings would be higher than on the first day”, underlines the administration. Since the «cda.ve.it» portal was put online, registrations for Thursday have always been higher than the 25th.
Who are “daytrippers”: “hikers”
More hikers, yes, but almost all of them foreigners, so much so that those who analyze the data for the Municipality (the public information company Venis) call them, technically, «improper hikers». Because most of them would be foreigners who they sleep outside the Municipality and who visit Venice for the day. On Friday the figure reached twenty-two thousand and of these over six thousand they purchased the ticket in the square of the Santa Lucia station or in one of the other control points of the historic city.
