An unprecedented medical feat in Turin. At the Maria Pia Hospital in Turin the operation marked a new milestone in the fight against bladder cancer.

Thanks to robotic surgery with the Hugo RAS (Robotic-Assisted Surgery) system, Prof. Giovanni Muto and his team successfully performed a cystectomy on a 60-year-old patient with only one kidney.

This innovation, which requires only four small incisions of 1 cm each, minimizes discomfort for the patient and allows for a quicker recovery.

Bladder cancer is widespread in Italy, but only a small percentage of cases require complete removal of the organ.

After the operation, the patient was discharged after approximately 5 days and did not require chemotherapy, thanks to the precision of the robotic surgery.

The Hugo system offers HD-3D image magnification and unprecedented precision, optimizing results and ensuring a better patient experience.

Maria Pia Hospital continues to push new frontiers in the fight against cancercommitting to clinical excellence and innovation to offer patients the best possible care.
