On Tuesday 23 April Piazza del Popolo a Latin she turned into movie set.
The central square of Latina hosted the filming of the last scenes of the TV series Adoration.
Adoration it’s a TV series produced by Picomedia Srl which will be broadcast shortly on the streaming platform Netflix.
Based on the novel of the same name by Alice Urciuolo, it was shot between the months of September and December in several locations location Of Latin And Sabaudia. On Tuesday the production returned to Latina for the grand finale of production in Piazza del Popolo.
Among the locations used are the Latina bus lines and the Town Hall, the latter transformed into a police station.
As regards the city of Sabaudia, filming was carried out in the “Rita Levi Montalcini” Institute and in the former “Sabaudia al lago” hotel, which for the occasion had become a welcoming bar.
The production staff of Picomedia Srl wanted to thank the Municipality of Latina for having quickly issued the necessary authorizations to carry out the filming. The last part of the filming was not in fact foreseen in the initial work plan. “We rarely find such particular attention,” they declared.
They also expressed applause to the citizens of Latina and Sabaudia because, despite the curiosity of the set, they always ensured maximum confidentiality and tranquility in their work.
The bond of Adoration with the province of Latina
Adorationthe series produced by Picomedia which will be broadcast on Netflix, is a product linked to the province of Latina from its origins.
The author of the novel on which the series is based, Alice Urciuolois in fact originally from Priverno. You know the Pontine area well, which you frequented for a long time, until you moved to Rome for study and work reasons.
Adoration it represented the literary debut for Alice Urciuolo, originally a screenwriter. A successful debut that saw her among the twelve candidates in 2021 for the LXXV edition of the most important Italian literary competition, the Premio Strega.
The book was immediately an editorial success, so much so that the production company Picomedia wanted to purchase the film rights.

In terms of economic return, just remember that the series Adoration generated for the municipality of Sabaudia an income equal to more one million euros. This is what could be deduced from the report sent to the mayor of Sabaudia by the production company Picomedia regarding the expenses incurred by production in the Sabaudia area.
The cinematographic productions hosted in the Pontine area are therefore not only an opportunity to promote the beauty of the area, but above all an effective tool to boost the local economy.
It is for this reason that the province of Latina is focusing on the great potential of the audiovisual sector as a vehicle for tourism promotion and a factor of economic growth.
