ALEXANDRIA – I am Gianluca Bardone (former mayor of Tortona and current member of Italia Viva, of which he was provincial coordinator until a few weeks ago), the oncologist from Ovada Paola Varese, Nicoletta Cucinella (deputy mayor and councilor for Culture and Social Policies of Arquata Scrivia) and the former mayor of Rocchetta Ligure, Giorgio Storacethe four Alessandria candidates from the Cirio civic list President – For our Piedmont.
It was the outgoing governor himself who officially presented them this afternoon: “We have chosen to focus on people – the words of Alberto Cirio in Alexandria -. And, in particular, on who has committed himself in the various territories since administrator or under the health and social profile. This is how this civic body was formed which, be careful, it is not in conflict with the other centre-right parties. But, on the contrary, it has the objective of fishing where the coalition is unable to reach, including abstentionism”.
Cirio: “Added value”
“We are addressing the moderate area of the electorate – he adds – in the awareness that we can be a value added. In a program that has its cornerstones in healthcare, in the protection of territories and in infrastructures”.
And the four candidates? “I carry with me the needs of citizens and peripheral territories”, he underlines Cucinellawhile the doctor Varese admits “to be at the center of an adventure that began by chance, because more foreign to my story it couldn’t be. But if I am here, I owe it to Alberto Cirio and to a word that he said and that made me decide: respect. In a shouted world, in a moment of people, come on violated rights, respect is what makes the difference. Even in my field, the health sector: it is not true that doctors and nurses leave the public sector for the money. They leave because they can’t take it anymore“.
“Being moderate is a value”
Bardone traces his story: “I was there for five years centre-left mayor in Tortona, but I have always spoken clearly with my party. And I am collided about cuts to healthcare, which I still don’t understand today, and about logistics: at the time, my city wasn’t even in Slala. Italia Viva? My path has always been clear: I left the Democratic Party and joined the civic committees of Matteo Renzi and therefore to Italia Viva, of which I am still part, because I am convinced that in Italy there is a lack of a moderate political entity, reformist and liberal. The guidelines of President Cirio’s movement”.
Closes Storax: “My small municipality has just 216 residents. Like a building in Turin… We always felt, until some time ago, ‘Piedmontese Serie B‘, deprived even of essential services.
