Cosenza, work completed at ‘Collodi-Dionesalvi’: the school suffered damage from bad weather several times

COSENZA – The restoration work of some spaces of the “Collodi-Dionesalvi” school in via Giulia has been completed, after the damage which caused bad weather last winter. They have been completed the restoration works of some spaces of the “Collodi-Dionesalvi” nursery school in via Giulia which had been damaged by last winter’s bad weather. The adverse weather conditions had caused damage to a part of the school, forcing the municipal administration, for safety reasons, to close some classrooms and also access to the laboratories. This morning the Municipality regained possession of the keys to the school, returned by the company that carried out the work, and on Monday they will be returned to the managers of the educational institute.

“Within a few months, thanks to the interventions coordinated by the Maintenance Councilor Francesco De Cicco – underlined the Mayor Franz Caruso – the “Collodi-Dionesalvi” school in via Giulia has been made safe and the functionality has been restored. We had verified the state in which it was due to the bad weather – recalls Franz Caruso – immediately after the incident, during an inspection which was followed up together with the councilors De Cicco and Unknown and we arranged, immediately after, the start of restoration works. Our priority objective – said Franz Caruso again – was to restore absolute safety conditions to the structure, which must be safeguarded and guaranteed once again when the safety of children is at stake. With the interventions carried out which concerned not only safety but also the interior and exterior arrangement, those critical issues which surfaced several times in the “Collodi-Dionesalvi” school and which we hope will never occur again have been overcome”.
