It comes with the redevelopment of two parking areas in via dei Macelli in Lucca an initial response to the workers who have signed up for parking at the former Mazzini barracks who in recent days have been protesting against the change in the methods for renewing their monthly season ticket. A portion of the new stalls created in the two areas of the slaughterhouses will in fact be reserved for the subscriptions of those who have a job in the historic center.
The announcement comes from the Municipality and Metro srl. In detail, the parking areas are located in the area of via dei Pubblici Macelli, to the south – along via Caduti del Lavoro – with approximately 80 stalls, and in front of and next to the branch office of the State Archives of Lucca, with approximately 50 parking spaces. An intervention planned for some time and requested by residents given the state of degradation of the two squares. Furthermore, the new arrangement which involves the inclusion of paid parking includes a quota of spaces reserved for season tickets for workers in the historic center.
Meanwhile, Metro srl recalls the wide choice of possibilities that can be activated online and made available in the main car parks around the ring road for those who work within the Walls. First of all there is the Carducci parking – for employed and self-employed workers in the historic center and in the area adjacent to Carducci, the cost of which is 20 euros per month; the station car park which provides a subscription for employed and self-employed workers in the historic center for 30 euros per month; a subscription for employed and self-employed workers in the station area for 20 euros per month; and, finally, season ticket for commuter workers or students, train season ticket holders at 10 euros per month.
At the Palatucci car park, season tickets are available for employees and self-employed workers in the historic center and the area adjacent to the car park at 10 euros per month. Finally, there are also spaces in viale Carlo Del Prete at the metered parking with a subscription for employed or self-employed workers in the historic center at 100 euros per month.
Metered parking is also present in viale Pacini (Porta Elisa), viale Giusti, piazza Curtatone, via Mazzini, via Montegrappa and a subscription is available for self-employed workers or employees and for students: 20 euros if the subscription is monthly; 50 euros if it is quarterly; 90 euros if it is half-yearly; 170 euros if it is annual.
