29 April 2024, Menti Stadium in Vicenza. Prefecture of Vicenza – Project “The rules take to the field: the value of the rules between sport, school and society”.

It is hereby announced that, as part of the actions undertaken with the aim of promoting, among the new generations, the culture of legality and combating the phenomenon of youth hardship, this Prefecture, in agreement with the Territorial School Office of Vicenza, has given launch, in recent weeks, of the educational project called “The rules take to the field: the value of the rules between sport, school and society”.

Created in collaboration with the Municipality of Vicenza, the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, the Milan Rules Association, the Italian Football Federation and the National Amateur League-Delegation of Vicenza, the Italian Referees Association – “GN” Section Bertoli” of Vicenza, the Società Sport e Salute SpA, and with the support of the LR Vicenza Calcio Society.

Lampertico and Da Schio professional institutes

This year the project was aimed at professional institutes (specifically Lampertico and Da Schio of Vicenza), whose students were involved in a series of workshops carried out by experts in the communication sector, who favored the use of an effective and stimulating tool, such as sport, a concrete example of the need to foresee and respect a system of rules, which are identified as possibilities and not as limits, in the absence of which one can neither play nor have fun.

Last April 24, at the end of the cycle of workshops carried out, a conference was held in the Aula Magna of the Lampertico Institute, in the presence of around 200 students from the two schools participating in the project, as well as the Prefect, the Director of the Office Territorial School and all the organizers of the project in question.

During the morning, the speakers included, in order, Prof. Fabio Caon, professor of communication at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, the lawyer. Angelo Cascella, expert in international law and member of the TAS (Administrative Sports Tribunal), Dr. Michele Nicolin, Head of the Youth Sector of Vicenza LR and Dr. Luciano Zanini, journalist and author of the book “Cuori Biancorossi dal 1902”.

In a climate of enthusiasm and participation, the various speakers discussed the topic of rules, in sport, at school and in society, stimulating active and collective reflection on the value of rules as a necessary condition for peaceful coexistence.

29 April Menti Stadium

The project will end with a triangular football match, scheduled for next year 29 April at the Menti Stadium in Vicenza (from 9.00 to 11.30)during which the “Menti”, “Rossi” and “Savoini” teams will compete, made up of a representation of male and female students, members of the world of local institutions and some “old glories” of the football world.

Approximately 900 students from comprehensive schools in the city and the surrounding area will participate in the event, from the last classes of elementary schools to high schools, as well as the civil and military authorities of the province.

The project falls within the Prefecture’s initiatives aimed at promoting the culture of legality in schools, bringing the institutions closer to young people, interacting with them, listening to them and concretely demonstrating how all the institutional components are close to them.
