Tuscany is the land of cycling and of champions such as Magni, Nencini, Martini, Ballerini, Bettini. A tradition that the many existing professional and amateur sports clubs carry on and that Region promotes and encourages especially in an exceptional year like this 2024, with the Tour de France which will start right from Florence. So here are the Italian cycling championships, called Tuscany Tricolorthey become a fair reward for a land that also lives on cycling, explains the president of the Region during the presentation.[mark] of the event.
Saverio Putpresident of Federciclismo, underlined how “the Tuscany tricolor 2024 project crowns the work of the entire Tuscan Federciclismo regional committee aimed at enhancing many factors of the Tuscan tradition: organization of cycling races, given the great general activity carried out in the region”.
The races on the calendar
The championships were described as a new format, with [mark]multiple disciplines ranging from road to off-road. Here are the races:
On 17 and 18 June, Italian junior track championships dedicated to Gino Bartali at the Enzo Sacchi Velodrome in Florence (organized Apd VII Settimello mile)
On 19 and 20 June, Italian time trial championships in all categories dedicated to cyclists who were victims of the tragic road accident that occurred in Braccagni in July 2022, in Grosseto (UC Larcianese organisation)
On 22 June, the Italian elite women’s road cycling championship dedicated to Gastone Nenciniin Florence – Scarperia (organized by Aurora asd)
On 23 June, the Italian elite men’s road cycling championship dedicated to Alfredo Martini Florence – Sesto Fiorentino (UC Larcianese organisation)
On 6 July, Italian road cycling championship cat. 1st and 2nd year female debutants and dedicated students Franco Ballerini in Lucca (GS Capannori organisation)
On 7 July, Italian road cycling championship cat. male debutants 1 and 2 years and dedicated to Franco Ballerini Altopascio Montecarlo students (GS Marginone organization)
On September 22nd Italian pump track championship all categories Buggianese Bridge (Bike academy Valdinievole organization)
On October 6th the Italian mtb enduro championship for all categories Camp in Elba (West Elba organisation)
