Carpi A beautiful square, to use the mayor’s words Alberto Bellelliwho left Thursday evening Martyrs Square with a big smile, for his last Liberation Day as first citizen. Because, on the occasion of the celebrations of 25 AprilPiazza Martiri was the protagonist twice, with thousands of people arrive for celebrate Liberation and celebrate.
The center was already filled in the morning for the celebrations, which began with the inauguration of the monument Mauro Milani at the Resistance park. Immediately afterwards the procession started, led by the band and the partisans and the flags ofAnpithat gives Corso Alberto Pio reached Piazza Martiri. The mayor Alberto Bellelli took to the stage, as well as the president of the Anpi Lucio Ferrari: together they remembered the values of the Resistance and the importance of still being here today to celebrate April 25th together. He also participated in the celebrations Annalisa Arletti, group leader of the Brothers of Italy and candidate for mayor for the centre-right: a presence appreciated by the mayor, for a party which, unlike what happened in other cities, in Carpi, as well as in Modena, also united and not divided the politics. Everything is under control also regarding the anarchist procession organized by “Carpi Anti-fascist”starting from viale Peruzzi to reach the center.
A day of celebration culminating with the big concert “Constellation”organized by Vasco Brondian artist from Ferrara known for his musical project “The lights of the power plant”.
The gates were scheduled to open at 3.30pm, but the square started to fill up earlier, becoming packed at the time of departure. Many nationally known artists took to the stage together with Vasco Brondi, from Brunori Sas to Francesca Michielinbut also Massimo Zamboni, Paolo Cognetti and Silvia Ballestra and Nada. Mayor Bellelli is also celebrating: «It was a wonderful party – he comments – from morning to evening, with lots of people and a great alchemy. I thank Vasco Brondi – he closes – Carpi experienced a truly special 25th April”.
