The employees of the Sicilian professional training sector, which has also been present in Marsala for a long time, are in a “state of agitation”. The protest against the regional government was proclaimed by Si.FUS Conf.ALI, which sent a note to the regional councilor for Education and Vocational Training Mimmo Turano, and for information also to the Digos of Palermo and to the regional deputy Vincenzo Figuccia , which underlines the “continuation of the approval and publication of the provision which lists the typology of participants in the requalification process of FP operators registered in the Register who have already passed the assessment phase by Formez, the implementation criteria and the start date of the interventions themselves; considering the disrespectful attitude on the part of the HR towards the vicissitudes of the operators who have been waiting for years; having noted the current serious and painful situation in which the sector finds itself which has been unoccupied for years, despite the protective laws; wonders what government actions this Department intends to implement, representing, consequently, that, in the event of failure to urgently address the problems set out above, this National Secretariat will not hesitate to involve and inform the press on the monitoring and support actions permanent that they intend to organize in the following ways: permanent delegation/garrison in front of the building of the FP Department and permanent delegation/garrison in front of the electoral committee of the councilor Turano, involving all the trade union forces present at SIFUS (Esa/Forestry/Reclamation Consortia ”.

The note is signed by the national secretary of Sifus Confsal, professional training sector, Francesco Liistro. Vocational training operators have felt ridiculed by Sicilian politics for years.

“We are not asking for alms – they say – but for the work we have done for years! And it’s long past time we should be ‘retrained’ and relocated. 10 million have been allocated for the costs of these routes, but councilor Turano is probably thinking about campaigning! There are hundreds of professional training operators in the province of Trapani waiting.”
