Council, the latest report from the Tedesco council approved

CIVITAVECCHIA – The administration led by Ernesto Tedesco closes the last city council by approving the management report for the 2023 financial year and does so leaving a treasure of 3 million euros. A bittersweet session with greetings from the mayor Ernesto Tedesco to the Pucci chamber, to his council, to the majority and to the opposition. A few pebbles have been removed from the shoes, for example the joke to the president of the Agricultural University of Civitavecchia about the elections not yet received, or about those “perhaps too many” reshuffles but overall a positive opinion for what has been carried out over the five years of work .

A council that alternated purely “technical” moments, linked to the institution’s budget, with other politicians. As the manager explained Francis Baptistreplacing the budget councilor Francesco Serpa, «on the administration result, in line with the path to covering the 2015 deficit deriving from the extraordinary assessment of the residuals, the 2023 statement closes with administrative result equal to -17,383,000 euros with an improvement of 20 thousand euros compared to the previous year. This is a figure that better than other indicators represents the efforts made over the course of this five-year period to make up for the inherited structural deficit in 2015 which amounted to -39 million euros of which 13 were repaid only in the last five years».

What remains to weigh is the quota of around 1 million and 300 thousand euros to be budgeted every year “which represents – continued Battista – a de facto burden in terms of planning the institution’s spending capacity”.

For the “second consecutive year the municipal fund closes positive at around 3 million euros. In 2019 the cash register was almost completely tight, we managed to close in the black and it is a first element that gives feedback on the path to reorganizing the finances of the budget. For 3 years the municipal administration has been paying commercial invoices according to the law. In 2023 the average settlement time is 20 days. They are certified data. There was a reduction in the commercial debt which in December 2018 amounted to 10.8 million. Today the stock amounts to just over 1 million. CDP mortgages all reset to the fixed rate and the overall stock went from 45.6 to 40 million in 2023. This is the demonstration of a newfound financial solidity of the municipal body’s budget without forgetting critical issues”.

There is a recovery of evasion between 2019 and 2023 for 21 million euros of which approximately 8.6 Imu and 12.7 tari. Approximately 4 recovered thanks to the dealer for compulsory collection. Sums that are the conclusion of the investigation process started over the years.

As regards the Tari, there is an increase in tariffs of around 2% which should be almost imperceptible for families and mitigated by the fact that with digital domicile for billing there is a discount of 10 euros.
