The Teatro Sociale of Como dedicated this entire one Night season to the theme of space, addressed from different points of view. Cinema cannot be missing. Everything is ready for the night marathon “Odyssey in the Theatre” from 6pm until dawn.
Directly from the stage of the Teatro Sociale, inside the city’s opera theatre, a marathon from dusk to dawn with some of the films that have marked the collective imagination of the Cosmos and its inhabitants. Tomorrow, Saturday 4 May, at 6.00 pm, a screening dedicated to families with Pixar’s Oscar-winning animated film Wall-E (6.00 pm)a touching environmentalist tale for adults and children, presented by the association Friends of Astra. The marathon will then begin with Kubrick’s masterpiece, A Space Odyssey (8.30 pm)perhaps the work that has most shaped the collective imagination about the Universe.
Between curious interludes and insights by Astra Cinemawe will discover the immense work “behind the scenes” of the spaceships and the “hidden” professionalism, as the original title states, thanks to Octavia Spencer’s interpretation in The right to count (11.30pm). We will continue with the aliens of Mars Attack (02.00 am) and the visionary Tim Burton, a satire overflowing with ideas and caustic humor, capable of reinventing the “invasion” genre. For those who manage to resist this far, the marathon ends Intergalactic Hitchhiker’s Guide (4.00 am), an extraordinary and fun journey to the edge of the universe.
