The Galletta Mayor List was presented on Tuesday 23 April 2024 in front of the ancient Porta dell’Archetto in Piazza San Giovanni-Aurelio Saffi, in support of the candidacy for Mayor of Roberta Galletta, the only female candidate in the municipal administrative elections in Civitavecchia for the next 8 and June 9th.
“Made up of 15 women and 9 men, the list is characterized in its logo by the symbol of the arch found under the turret of the ancient medieval defense walls in Piazza San Giovanni, in the heart of the historic city centre, because it represents all of us who we have decided to commit ourselves and spend ourselves and that we want to be a bulwark in defense of the city – commented Roberta Galletta – with the writing “He who knows loves, he who loves defends” which has become a mantra for me and from now on the mantra of the list, all wrapped up in a tricolor heart exploded to testify to the energy, love and passion that accompanies us and that only thanks to knowledge not only of the history of the city but also of the administrative machine can really bring a real and concrete change in politics and in the city government” he then added the candidate for mayor.
“We are guided by examples of the Past, fundamental for understanding the Present and planning the Future, such as Emperor Frederick II of Swabia “Stupor Mundi”, who managed to unite different populations thanks to culture and art, creating that sense of community and belonging, the same one that is needed and which is fundamental to be able to save and restart our Civitavecchia economically, but also two myths, that of David against Goliath, because our list is like David, because we want to rely only on our own means and financing without having political bills to pay, against Goliath, who is not the electoral opponent but the current system of doing politics.
And then we are inspired by the myth of Atlas, the titan who carried the world on his shoulders because we are ready to take care of the whole city and carry a little piece of it each on our shoulders”
“In the next few days we will present the electoral program on which we have been working for some time in a process of work and total and unanimous sharing with the city because we want it to be truly responsive to the needs of citizens without however being the book of dreams” concluded Roberta Galletta .
“We are running to win, certainly not to participate, as the motto made famous by Pierre de Coubertin states, because this is the only example of the Past that we really don’t want to refer to in this electoral competition”.
