In Orvieto and Terni there are 60 policemen missing. Sit-in and collection of signatures by the FSP union against the lack of staff in the State Police

“Donate a policeman to Terni!”; with this slogan the awareness campaign against the shortage of staff in the state police in Terni and Orvieto organized by the provincial secretariat of the Police Union Federation, one of the most representative organizations both locally and nationally. The first appointment of this campaign is scheduled for Saturday 27 April when the local provincial secretariat of the FSP will organize a sit-in in Terni during which a collection of signatures will be held aimed at citizens to ask the Ministry of the Interior to send agents to the police headquarters of Terni and Orvieto. Furthermore, during the sit-in, the reasons that pushed the union to launch this request for help to the citizens and representatives of the political forces who want to support this initiative to protect the safety of the citizens of Terni will be illustrated in more depth. and Orvieto.
“The mobilization of the union – explains the provincial general secretary of the FSP Vittorio Mari – arises from the strong shortage of staff in the various commands of the State Police in the province of Terni; to date, Mari continues, if we evaluate the staffing situation in relation to the operational needs of the police headquarters, the Orvieto police station, the Terni and Orvieto Railway Police, the Terni and Orvieto Traffic Police and the Cyber Security Police section of Terni, at least 60 new police officers are needed to be distributed among the various commands. It is clear that, if there are more officers, a greater number of patrols can be used in the area and this will lead to an intensification of both the prevention and repression of crimes and therefore greater safety for citizens will be guaranteed.
For this reason – Mari continues – on the morning of Saturday 27 April we expect those who care about this issue to go to the gazebo installed by our union in Terni in Piazza della Repubblica and sign our petition which will then be sent to the Chief of Police and the Minister of the Interior. After the meetings we have had in recent weeks with representatives of the institutions and with exponents of local politics, we learned that 13 policemen will be transferred to the various offices in Terni and Orvieto next June”. “We must say that compared to the last assignments made in October when no one was sent to Terni, this is an objective effort that meets our requests, but it is an absolutely insufficient number; the arrival of the 13 new agentsin fact, it will only serve to cover the retirements that will occur in the various offices in Terni and Orvieto in the current year and therefore there will still be a hole of 60 units that we urgently ask to remedy”.
