Sschools closed in Imola on Saturday 18 May, qualifying day for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Only the schools of Ponticelli and Sesto Imolese are excluded.
The ordinance that provides this was signed today by Mayor Panieri.
There closure of schools of all levels located in the territory of the Municipality of Imola is adopted in view of the large influx of public, a «particularly complex for transport and roads».
«On this occasion, the influx of public from other cities and from abroad is very high – we read in the ordinance – and such as to strongly involve the potential of the health, social and police structures», without forgetting the «foreseeable difficulties relating to traffic” that an event like the Grand Prix brings with it.
A similar ordinance had already been prepared for the 2023 Grand Prix, which was then canceled due to the flood that hit Romagna. Schools will send a specific communication to students’ families and staff.
