A citizen who was awakened by the noise raised the alarm. A 45-year-old man arrested for attempted aggravated robbery
There entrance door of a luxury boutique in via Tornabuoni in Florence attacked with electric drills in the middle of the night: this is the scene that yesterday, shortly after 2 in the morning, he found himself faced with Florentine woken up with a start by the noise coming from the street. The latter then gave the alarm to 112Nue, then explaining the situation to the State Police.
In the meantime the man with the drill would have continued with his undertaking, even managing to make a hole in the sheet metal of the business doorprobably intending to score a coup in the prestigious fashion street of the Tuscan capital.
The police cars arrived within moments, but there was no longer any trace of the alleged burglar. The Operations Room, however, had never lost sight of him: since it was a crime in progress, through the video surveillance town officers followed the quickly moving suspect step by step moving away on a scooter.
The fugitive was like that stopped a few moments later in via dei Sassetti and a drill and a long series of tools suitable for burglary, such as screwdrivers, lock picks and wrenches. The man, a 45-year-old of Serbian origin, was arrested on suspicion of attempted aggravated robbery.
