REGGIO EMILIA – After +4.2% in March, the number of contracts that Reggio Emilia companies plan to activate in recent weeks and in the coming months continues to rise. For April, in fact, 3,710 new contracts are expected in the province of Reggio Emilia; the data – which emerges fromanalysis by the Chamber of Commerce Research Office of Emilia based on Excelsior System data – appears to be growing (+11.7%) compared to April 2023.

The good performance should affect the entire April-June quarter, with a result 5.4% higher than last year and a number of new contracts at 12,600 units.

The companies that will activate new contracts represent 15% of the total and, among the significant data of the analysis, the 38% share reserved for young people stands out, but also the constant presence of difficulty in finding the figures desired by entrepreneurspresent in 50% of cases.

The proposed contracts are for 73% represented by employed work (24% permanent, 42% temporary and 7% other) and for 27% from ‘flexible’ shapes (23% administration/temporary workers and 4% collaboration/VAT numbers/others).

The top 5 business sectors for new contracts scheduled in April are accommodation, catering and tourism services (550 new contracts and +5.8% compared to April 2023), the mechanical and electronic industries (490 new contracts, +36.1%), the trade (450 units, + 80%), the metallurgical and metal products industries (320 new contracts) and the buildings (290 units, +16%).

The three most requested professions in absolute terms they are employees in catering activities (460 units, 44.5% of cases considered difficult to find), sales employees (210 units, with 24% of cases difficult to find) and vehicle drivers motorized (190 units, 58.3% difficult to find).

The most requested qualifications they concern the qualification of professional training or professional diploma, with 1,460 new contracts (39.3% of the total); followed by secondary level education diplomas, with 1,040 units (28%), while for those leaving compulsory school there are 680 new contracts available and for the university level and the ITS Academy there are 520 unit.

Experience in the profession is particularly required for higher qualifications (54.5% of cases), while it drops to 13.3% for intermediate ones and 14.3% for compulsory schooling.

As far as professional figures are concerned, Chamber of Commerce data attest that in the managerial sector and with high technical specialization, the demand for technicians in the engineering field is unsuccessful in 84.7% of cases, while that of commercial distribution technicians in 80% of cases. % of cases. Engineers, analysts and application design specialists are also difficult to find, both difficult to find in 73.9% of cases.

Among employees and in commercial and service professions, it is more difficult to find qualified professionals in health and social services (79.3% of cases), beauty care operators (48.4% of cases), merchants and employees in catering activities (44.5% of cases) and qualified professionals in personal services (37% of cases). As regards specialized workers, the greatest difficulties in finding are found in the search for specialized food processing workers (in 73% of cases, difficult to find), workers involved in construction and maintenance of building structures (70.4% of cases), of workers specialized in the installation/maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment (in 67.9% of cases) and of artisan mechanics, assemblers, repairers, maintenance workers of fixed and mobile machines (in 64.5% of cases, of difficult to find).
