The hope is that we will not be abandoned: the dispute between the 100 operators of the L’Aquila call center Tecnocall, who have been engaged in a mobilization for months, explodes again.
A few days before Labor Day operators of Tecnocall they try to ward off the specter of layoffs, a consequence of the end of protected energy market. The mobilizations involved and united the entire city, from the archbishop Giuseppe Petrocchi to the fans at the stadium.
“We should have imagined it, we should have known it, we should have foreseen it, we should have found an alternative solution before the curtain of the regional elections went down, yet we continued to hope that we would not be abandoned, that a solution would be found“, write in a note the RSAs of Slc-Cgil, Fistel-Cisl and Uilcom-Uil, Raparelli, Petracca, Alonzi, Fioretti, Moretti and Pepe. “Months have passed since the active mobilization, the strikes, the appeals to the city and the institutions, we asked for help and support from all the towns and citizens of L’Aquila, we did not give up, we continued to dialogue with the local and national institutions, we have waited for answers, given the thousand promises, but to date nothing has arrived”. In February the workers they also met Prime Minister Giorgia Melonivisiting the city during the election campaign. “We came here today to ask the Premier to take on a task that concerns the future of 100 workers in the province of L’Aquila and 1500 workers throughout the country”he explained to the capitalValentina Raparelli, Tenocall and RSA worker.
“We hoped – the RSAs clarify in a note – that an alternative solution could be found to guarantee salary and employment continuity, given the government’s lack of will to apply the social clause as natural and right. We have urged the entire political community to seek a positive solution to our dispute, the last meeting took place on 13 February in Rome, in the presence of the national secretariats, brought together by Senator Liris together with the winners of the auctions of the gradual protection service, but everything is silent, nothing moves, everything remains unchanged, no response is arrived. We are stranded on a rock of lack of answers and assumption of responsibility”. As Il Centro reminds us, there are only two months left until the transition from the enhanced protection service to the gradual protection service: “We could find ourselves facing a Kafkaesque scenario, on the one hand new fixed-term hires for the inbound and back office management of the gradual protection service and on the other new unemployed people, already trained and professionalised, with the risk that the State pays twice , first the redundancy fund in derogation and then subsequently the Naspi. We continue to hope that there may be a future, that a solution can be found: this is why last week we made yet another request to the prefect for an institutional table, in order to turn the light back on our dispute. We are confident that we will soon be called together with local and national institutions.”
