Olbia. The Olbia Lions Club, committed to promoting initiatives in favor of the local community, proudly announced the organization of three days of studies and conferences with the suggestive title: “From the Mother Goddess to San Simplicio”.
The event enjoys municipal patronage and aims to offer the city of Olbia a unique opportunity for historical and cultural study, retracing five thousand years of history of the city and its territory, from the Neolithic era to the present day.
The event will take place from 3 to 5 May at the Archaeological Museum of Olbia, and will see the participation of illustrious speakers, each an expert in a specific historical phase. Dr. Paola Mancini will be called to discuss the pre- and protohistory, Dr. Rubens D’Oriano will focus on the historical age, while Dr. Agostino Amucano will delve into the medieval period.
The three days will be punctuated by morning conferences, which will begin at 10 am, during which the speakers will share with the public their knowledge and research regarding the different historical periods that have shaped the identity of Olbia and its territory. In the afternoon, starting from 3 pm, participants will have the opportunity to participate in guided visits to monuments less known but of great historical-artistic value, accompanied by the morning speakers.
It will be a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the topics covered during the conferences and to discover new details and curiosities related to the history of the city. The initiative of Lions Club Olbia it is part of a broader context of valorisation and diffusion of local culture, offering inhabitants and visitors a unique opportunity to learn and discover the historical heritage of the city and its territory.
