BARI – Back and forth between the deputy of Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra and co-spokesperson for Green Europe, Angelo Bonelli, and the Puglia Region on the update of the epidemiological study carried out on Taranto by Aress Puglia. The objective of the study is to demonstrate whether there is a correlation in the evolution of diseases and mortality due to pollution linked to the massive industrial presence in Taranto.
According to Bonelli, “the study in question has not been updated since 2016. Despite the commitments made publicly by the President of the Puglia Region, Michele Emiliano, for its update, we are today faced with a serious failure to fulfill the commitments undertaken”. The deputy of the Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra and co-spokesperson for Green Europe also brings into play the appeal process for the «Environment sold off» investigation which opened recently and notes how the defense of the defendants of those convicted in the first instance , has “presented his counter-assessments to demolish the epidemiological assessment of the Prosecutor’s Office”…
