Foligno, 26 April 2024 – The Carabinieri of the Foligno Company have executed an order for the application of a personal precautionary measure issued by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Spoleto, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, with which the house arrest against a local 19-year-old.
The young man, following the investigations conducted by the soldiers of the Foligno station, is under investigation for having carried out, with repeated threats and harassment, aggravated persecutory acts against an 18-year-old schoolmate, after she had expressed desire to interrupt their very brief acquaintance.
In fact, on several occasions he sent the victim messages with threatening content, frequently contacting her on the telephone, also through the girl’s friends, even claiming that he would scar her with acid.
He reached the latter’s home several times, although without managing to meet her, and on one occasion, near the school, recently, once approached, he had seriously offended and threatened her, not sparing in directing insults at her family .
During school breaks, it was verified that he spat on her and, without justified reason, he was found outside his home in possession of an iron bar, stationed near the school attended by the 18-year-old.
The investigating judge, having assessed the serious circumstantial compendium reconstructed by the Carabinieri, the request formulated by the Public Prosecutor and the personality of the suspect, in addition to the harassing behavior described above, which led to a persistent and serious state of anxiety and fear in the victim, considered the precautionary needs to be recurring, applying the measure of house arrest at the recipient’s home.
At the current stage of the investigation, the subject is presumed innocent.
