MONTESILVANO – The Montesilvanese (Pescara) members of the Italian Left – Alleanza Verdi Sinistra have officially founded the city club and have decided to name it after the Partisan of the Montesilvanese Maiella Brigade: Domenico D’Alberto.
“We decided to give ourselves a clear historical reference, dating back to the Resistance which saw many young Montesilvanese as protagonists in the years of the war against Nazi-fascism, Domenico was one of those” – he says Emanuele Mancinelli, unanimously elected by the Assembly as Secretary of the city club, who concludes thus: “with the same spirit of freedom and justice of those young people in ’43, we will carry forward our ideas and defend the constitutional principles in the administrative activity that we will carry out with the our representatives, as well as the Club, will always be ready to take on board citizens’ requests to defend the environment, common goods, solidarity and services to citizens”.
“The request for participation, in a city as important as it is complex and strategic in the regional context, finally finds its representation, thanks to the commitment of many and many who have decided to pool their energies, in a vision of community that finds its identity in interpreting social needs of equity and sustainability, in an idea of solidarity development. From the club, we start, in a moment of push for change, by networking in support of Fabrizio D’Addazio’s candidacy for mayor. We are ready to face the appeal of the administrative elections, bringing to the coalition a vision of a city that mends the souls of a polycentric territory, according to the values of social justice, with candidacies of women and men who know how to grasp the desire for change, against the logics of fragmentation and individualism,” he says Daniele Licheri, regional secretary of the Italian Left.
