Sunday 28 April everyone is running or walking between San Giorgio and the Estense walls. As part of the celebrations of the patron saint, the ‘Walk with us in San Giorgio’ returns as per tradition, which this year too will be combined with a classic of Ferrara running, that is, the 49th edition of the ‘Caminada par San Zorz’. A traditional event whose main promoter is Gianni Bosi, historic organizer of the ‘Caminada par San Zorz’, and Alessandro Cattabriga, organizer and activist of the Borgo San Giorgio district. The event is scheduled for Sunday 28 April. The meeting point is scheduled for 8 in the San Giorgio district in via Ferrariola where participants will register, while the departure will then be at 9.30, with hundreds of regular runners and walkers expected. A recreational-motor walk that will be over a distance of 6.5 km, a consolidated route, starting from the bell tower of the basilica sanctuary of San Giorgio towards the city walls, and then returning to the San Giorgio district.
At the end there will be a participation prize for all those registered, as well as a rich final refreshment. Furthermore, all participants in the recreational walk will be given a night runner spotlight as a souvenir of the event as well as various gadgets prepared by the organisation. A non-competitive event that has been part of the traditional program of celebrations on the day of the patron saint San Giorgio for years, which this year will be held a few days later or on Sunday 28 April, which could encourage a better presence of runners and walkers. All in a context rich in history such as the square and bell tower of the basilica sanctuary of San Giorgio. The Ferrara running calendar will then resume the following week which will reserve as its next appointment the most historic one in the area, that of the ‘running tour of the walls’ scheduled for Wednesday 1st May at the Ferrara racecourse.
