No BlizzCon this year. Blizzard won’t hold its annual convention in 2024, but says the long-running event, introduced in 2005, it may return “in the future”.

The event dedicated to fans of the software house’s games has lived through difficult years. In 2020 it was not held due to the pandemic, in 2021 it was digital only. Another digital edition was planned for 2022, but was canceled after complaints about the company’s toxic work environment. To all effects, the 2023 edition was the first in attendance since 2019.

“After careful consideration over the past year, we at Blizzard have decided not to host BlizzCon in 2024. This decision was not made lightlyas BlizzCon is a very special event for all of us and we know many of you are looking forward to it. We are approaching this year differently and we have already explored different types of events in the past, however we assure you that We look forward to bringing BlizzCon back in the future“, we read in a post on the Blizzard website.

The software house makes it known that in the coming months it will share further details on the new titles arriving this yearincluding World of Warcraft: The War Within and the first Diablo IV expansion, Vessel of Hatred.

“To celebrate these upcoming releases and unite our communities in new and special ways, we’ll be sharing our exciting ones soon programs for other industry trade shows and conventions, such as Gamescom“, explains Blizzard.
