Final budget and adoption of the documents for the extension of a dock inside the Fincantieri factory. These are the latest news emerging from the activity of the Port System Authority of the central Adriatic Sea. Last Wednesday, the Management Committee approved the 2023 final budget of the Institution, on which the Board of Auditors and the Sea Resource Partnership Body expressed a positive opinion. In 2023, the ADSP increased its revenue, due to state fees, proceeds from authorizations for port operations and services and for passenger traffic, port and anchorage taxes. A surplus of 12.6 million was recorded in the current part, which includes an advance relating to the insurance compensation of 6 million for the fire of the former Tubimar in the port of Ancona. Capital account revenues amount to 44.9 million, mainly state funds for port infrastructure and the Pnrr for the implementation of the works program in the Adsp ports. Current expenditure, at 11.7 million, was lower than expected. The administration surplus as of 31 December 2023 amounts to 289,705,471.16 euros, of which 444,264.59 euros is available.

Among the positive elements of the 2023 accounting management of the Port System Authority, we highlight the low incidence of personnel costs on current budget revenues, equal to just under 17%, and the payment times of Adsp suppliers, which appear to be in average of 20 days compared to the 30 days required by law.

Also in the session the day before yesterday, the Adsp Management Committee also adopted the functional technical adaptation to the current Port Master Plan for the lengthening of the ‘former ferrous materials’ quay of the Fincantieri factory. In the Doric shipyard, during periods of maximum activity, up to 4 ships can be produced simultaneously thanks to the work of over 2,500 people. All the processes for each production phase are carried out inside the factory, which is characterized by a 240 meter dry dock, a 270 meter preparation dock and the one called ‘former ferrous materials’, equipment and dock cranes, workshops, warehouses, management buildings and yards. The quay is 110 meters long, the intervention will allow it to be increased to 260 metres.
