“Mine is a homecoming – says Giovanni Termini – both for the friends you come back to see again, but also for all those who perhaps cannot follow you in the various exhibitions in which you participate”.

Termini says this for the Cagli exhibition, but not only, which opened at Palazzo Tiranni-Castracani “where the contents integrate into the container and are enhanced. I am very happy – continues the sculptor – because I am having very positive feedback by the people who come to Cagli to visit the exhibition. And the title of this exhibition inside Palazzo Tiranni Castracani, “How you put it” has an ironic and sarcastic value because how you put it is not like in life”.

For Giovanni Termini, thanks also to the sponsorship from the Cariaggi family, a homecoming with also symbolic values because there is already one of his works in the city tower and it has been there since 2001. But not only this “because it is also the place of a dear friend and a teacher like Eliseo Mattiacci”. And the Cariaggis have only sponsored two exhibitions in Cagli: the one done by Eliseo Mattiacci and now this one by Giovanni Termini. With that face a bit like this, because he seems like a sort of Albert Einstein of sculpture, Termini is an artist who travels against the current because in his time linked to Pesaro, the capital of culture, on May 8th he will be at work again, but changing location: we will move from Cagli to Montecirccardo.

All within, together with 15 other artists, the revisiting of an exhibition that remained in the memory of many art enthusiasts as “Sculptures in the city”, and which now becomes “Sculptures for the community” in the Pesaro area 2024.

Giovanni Termini says: “For this exhibition which is curated by Marcello Smarrelli, everyone tried to position themselves within the historic center of Pesaro. I, however, with the curator Marco Tonelli, went in the opposite direction, that is, to the extremes and therefore I will a reflection on the suburbs, on Montedciccardo, places that time has transformed into dormitories. Places that risk abandonment and depopulation, but in reality their true beauty also lies in the territory that surrounds them. Montecirccardo is not just the convent. but it is an observation point and its charm lies in the landscape. And for this place I didn’t think so much of a work, of a sculpture – says Termini – but of a project”.

Giovanni Termini returns home after crowds because he participated in a collective exhibition in Rome, in the spaces of the national academy of San Luca with over a thousand visitors on the inauguration day alone. His artistic journey is between Cagli and Monteciccardo, but riding his bike through the historic center of Pesaro, he has a wish: “If I were to think about an exhibition in Pesaro, the place where I would like not so much to think about an exhibition of many works, but a single act made up of a single work, is the Rocca Costanza Synagogue? I would imagine a collective there inside the cells. But not too late because it is still under construction because then it would lose its charm like the floor in concrete. Everything is still pending and this factor makes the cells of the fortress fascinating”.
