Descriptive text here

FRANCAVILLA BY THE SEA. The comedy of Francesco Paolantoni and his stage companions in a comedy built around one of William Shakespeare’s masterpieces. The Neapolitan showman is the author, director and performer of the show Either Tello or… me! which tomorrow inaugurates the theater season of the Sirena Auditorium, in Francavilla al Mare, directed by the composer and director Davide Cavuti.
The programme, divided into the music and theater sections and supported by the municipal culture department, will continue until 8 June with four other proposals. Always appointment at 9pm.
Either Tello or… me! with Francesco Paolantoni sees Stefano Sarcinelli, Arduino Speranza, Antonio D’Ausilio, Manuela Zero and Felicia Del Prete interpreting the misadventures of an amateur company that will have to interpret the famous Shakespearean tragedy in a metatheatrical game Othello. «The story is revolutionized in every sense, but I’m sure that if Shakespeare saw it he would have a lot of fun» assures Paolantoni. We read in the show’s presentation notes: «A pro-dramatic evening, a show that with a writing inspired by the commedia dell’Arte, with a fast pace and with the mechanism of the “theater within the theater” tells the misadventures of a company amateur (all always strictly on stage) who in the first act is busy rehearsing a show that will debut the following day. The first act develops between the attempt to rehearse, the delirious discussions between the actors, the psychological dissertations on relationships and, at a certain point, the desperation for the news that the actor who was supposed to play the protagonist will no longer be coming. The only solution is for the director himself to play Othello, without knowing the part. In the second act, with the stage divided in two, on one side you will see the show in progress and on the other the dressing rooms, you will simultaneously witness both the merciless staging of Othello (with an inevitable different ending that Shakespeare would never have imagined), and to the strange events the actors faced in the dressing rooms”.
After Paolantoni and his companions, the Sirena season will continue with other notable names in theater and music. Sunday 5 May another Neapolitan artist, the chansonnier Peppe Servillo with a recital Neapolitan, a passionate tribute to Neapolitan culture and classical song, a musical itinerary through the songs of great artists of the past such as Raffaele Viviani, EA Mario (pseudonym of Giovanni Ermete Gaeta), Renato Carosone and other authors who have made the history of song. The third appointment on the bill is with the actor Emilio Solfrizzi, who will bring the show to the stage on Friday 17 May The cooked and the raw, with the participation of Antonio Stornaiolo, to reunite a historic couple of Apulian comedy; and Puglia is also the protagonist of the fun duet. Here’s the show on Friday 31 May Brides – The wedding of the century by Fabio Busotti, starring Marianella Bargilli and Silvia Siravo, directed by Matteo Tarasco for a play on the true union that occurred between two women, Elisa and Marcela (from the protagonists the title of the 2019 Netflix film), the first ever celebrated (in 1901 in Spain ), never annulled, neither by the Church nor by the civil registry. Finally, the program bids farewell with jazz music: on Saturday 8 June concert by the highly regarded author and composer Paolo Fresu, trumpet and flugelhorn, in duo with guitarist Bebo Ferra, in a fascinating program of original themes and old songs.
