The redevelopment of the PalaBarton in Perugia

The PalaBarton of Perugia, formerly known as PalaEvangelistiis an arena that hosts various sporting excellences, both in volleyball and in many other so-called minor sports.

Over the last four years, the Perugia administration has invested over 2.5 million euros to make the PalaBarton increasingly welcoming for the public and athletes.

The expansion of the stands was significant, achieved by closing the four “segments” that join the stands, thus obtaining the continuity of the stands and bringing the capacity to 4,986 spectators.

The attention to the best enjoyment of the sporting spectacle by spectators has led to one of the latest interventions in chronological order, the replacement of the balustrades to improve the view of the game.

For this purpose they were installed, in collaboration with Umbria Glassapproximately 120 linear meters of transparent parapets Nymph Stadium by Faraone, with 10+10 safety glass. Tests were carried out on site with thrusts of up to 750 kg/m.

Today, therefore, the stands have an unobstructed view thanks to the glass, and are safe thanks to advanced technologies.

In the gallery, the installation of the glass parapets and the testing tests.

The redevelopment of the building also saw the creation of a new air conditioning and video surveillance system, as well as the renovation of the external square.

The works were carried out in record time, if we consider the difficulties due to the increase in costs and the difficulty in obtaining materials which occurred in recent months; this was possible thanks to the close collaboration between the entities, the work of the municipal offices of the sports facilities unit, and the professionalism of the executing companies.

The PalaBarton is now capable of hosting international events at the highest level, after the European volleyball championship last September, such as the European karate championships next June and the important concerts scheduled.
