PESARO At the seaside it is already a puzzle for the tourism that will come even if the Municipality has rushed to the rescue by confirming the return of the free shuttles and the opening of the stalls in Sottomonte already in the second part of May. What is worrying, however, is the fate of the stalls at the Santa Marta hotel institute: the number will be reduced this summer. The decision has now been made, due to the arrival in August of the traveling forest which began its “journey” last week from Piazza del Popolo. The trees will then be definitively planted in the hotel area which from July, like every summer, makes it available to bathers and hotel tourists. Indeed, one of the certainties that have emerged in recent days is that the spaces available for the needs of hoteliers will remain, it is much more likely that the spaces reserved for scooters will be cut.
The needs
For the needs of the hotels in Levante, parking spaces have been allocated in the area closest to the main road, in agreement with the Municipality and Pesaro Parcheggi. However, last year the space for swimmers to park around part of the perimeter of the hotel had already been reduced to make room for the Utopia Festival and from this summer other parking spaces will be eliminated. «To carry out the Bosco al Santa Marta operation – the municipal councilor and project representative, Michele Gambini, goes into detail – around fifty stalls will be lost. Based on the map and the reorganization of the area, which has always been a relief valve for swimmers, starting from these months, a portion facing the sea will be affected by the preparation of the land. Which is why, together with the school, we have divided the perimeter around the hotel into five areas: area 1 which remains unchanged like last year and intended for the needs of hoteliers, right next to the school gym. Areas 2 and 3 will be rest areas for swimmers and in area 5 of the Santa Marta park and intended for woodland, work will start as early as May. Part of the second space will be divided in half between cars and scooter parking, next to the school. Hoteliers will therefore be able to benefit from the part on the front, which like last year will be divided in half together with the parking spaces for swimmers’ cars”.
The planned reorganization of the parking area designed with the Walking Forest format could lead to a substantial change from summer 2025, according to the designers, when part of the parking spaces for cars will be transformed into parking spaces for bicycles. «With the redevelopment and planting of the forest in one of our areas – explains the hotel manager, Roberto Franca – a part of the perimeter will be paved. In the event that during next summer there are greater needs on the part of the hotels and all the stalls on the front are occupied, there is the possibility for the benefit of the hoteliers to also use the opposite and paved side, obtaining a few more stalls in the ‘area on the Pesaro side’. Meanwhile, the Municipality, in collaboration with Adriabus, confirms the lines – “Viale Trieste”, “Sottomonte”, “Notturna”, “Baia Flaminia”. The shuttles will be connected to parking spaces located throughout the city, including the free car park in Villa Marina which can accommodate 170 cars and 63 scooters. Also confirmed are those in Sottomonte (“ex CPA” and Imprevisto), from 18 May to 15 September and the rest area at Santa Marta from 8 June to 1 September. Parking will also be permitted on the mountain side of the Marche road in the stretch between the former petrol station and the edge of the town center of Pesaro; in the section the maximum travel speed will be 30 km/h.
