First of a series of events that aim to define a multi-cultural itinerary aimed at addressing issues such as resistance to every form of oppression of fundamental rights and freedoms through music, through artistic performances and recreational activities aimed at the genuine confrontation of ideas and socialization .
This is Mayhem “Rude party”, born from the collaboration of various local entities active in cultural production such as the independent labels “Century Vox” and “SouLove”.
In the first edition which will take place at the Aics BlackStar club in via Ravenna 104, on Saturday 4 May, the “master of ceremony” will be Navigator, pioneer of “Mcing” and the London Jungle. Platinum record with “Ruffneck” and gold record for “Inequity worker”, Navigator began performing in the London Soundsystems since 1979, collaborating with artists such as Shy FX, Dj Brockie, MC Det, Dj Rap and Mickey Finn with who will develop the “Junglist” movement. Host of the first Jungle program live on Saturday evenings on BBC Radio 1 since 1994, he boasts an extensive discography with releases for iconic labels such as V Recordings, NinjaTune and Lion Dub International.
Two key DJs of the Italian scene will perform with him: DJ Afghan, from Ferrara active throughout Europe, world-renowned record producer and father of the historic HIGHFOUNDANTION Festival; DJ General “The R” founder of the Century Vox label and first president of Link Associated of Bologna. On the decks since 1972 he has, among the first ever, activated the processes of birth and diffusion of Italian Rap/Reggae and of the phenomenon known as the “Posse” at the beginning of the 90s. Pioneer of Drum and Bass in Italy, main responsible and actor of the legendary evenings of the Drum and Bass Arena at the Link in Bologna, he possesses incredible mixing techniques with vinyl records.
The evening will be concluded by Tania Kim and Kappasaur, young but already established exponents of the DNB in our territory. From 6.30pm with Aerosol Art, there will be a market of artistic and artisanal proposals selected for our public, the spicy food contest in partnership with Hot-Chip.eu and the musical selection of young DJs from Ferrara: Alanarch, Botz, Clood and Dimensioneimmateriale .
Mayhem “Rude party” will be an evening full of music and activities designed to celebrate together, also promoting the commitment to a more just world that respects human dignity and freedom against all types of oppression.
