Presentation of books in Lecce and Presicce-Acquarica del Capo

“To the empty world” by Giorgia Mastropasqua, will be shown on Friday 26 April 2024, at 7pm, at the Officine Culturali Ergot in Lecce; “The four Iranian seasons” by Ghazi Rabihavi”, Saturday 27 April, at 6.30 pm, at the Bernardini Library in Lecce, and Monday 29 April, at 7 pm, in the Palazzo Ducale in Presicce

Weekend with the presentation of two volumes, in Lecce and Presicce-Acquarica del Capo. At the Officine Culturali Ergot, in Piazzetta Falconieri in Lecce, on Friday 26 April, at 7 pm, Giorgia Mastropasqua will present the poetic anthology “To the empty world” (Controluna, 2024). The poet, psychiatrist and music teacher, Gianpaolo Mastrpasqua, will talk to the author. Readings and videos by Roberta Cleopazzo, musical entertainment by Ester Ambra Giannelli on cello, and dee jay set with Rebecca Wilson. The collection contains the lyrics written by Giorgia Masatropasqua, from the last months of the lockdown to the birth, in June 2023, of her daughter Ginevra.

Also in Lecce, but on Saturday 27th at 6.30 pm, in the premises of the Bernardini Library in Piazzetta Giosuè Carducci, in the historic centre, the 68-year-old Iranian writer, playwright and director Ghazi Rabihavi, will present the collection of short stories “The Four Iranian Seasons” (Musicaos Editore , 2024). In addition to the author, Gabriella Alfieri, president of the “In Albera” Association, will be present; the editor of the volume, Benedetta Pati; the publisher Luciano Pagano; the photojournalist Claudio Longo and, for the readings, Veronica Giordano, for the translation, Elena Camille. Musical entertainment with Giorgio Dtante (trumpet and tuba) and Samuel Mele (oud and voice).

Edited by the Presicce-Acquarica Library and in collaboration with the associations “In Albera” and “Memoria dell’asino” and Musicaos editore, “The four Iranian seasons” will also be presented on Monday 29 April, at 7 pm, in the Ducal Palace of Presicce, in the presence of the author and publisher Luciano Pagano. The music will be by Bright Star, the readings by Marina Pizzolante and the translations by Stefania Delli Noci.

The context in which Ghazi Rabilhavi’s stories are set follows the Iranian revolution of the 1980s, which began with the fall of the regime of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and the rise of Ayatollah Khomeini. For info: 0836-618232 e [email protected].
