Doctor Giuseppe Fiorita, an anesthesiologist from Copertino (Lecce) is the new President of FederVita Puglia, the regional coordination of the Life Help Centers and the Apulian offices of the Pro-Life Movement. The election took place in the management meeting held in Ostuni on 21 April.
The vice president is the representative of the Ostuni Centre, Caterina Andriola, secretary Antonio Rizzo (Lecce) and treasurer Antonio Palumbo (Noha). Also part of the regional board are Don Francesco Coluccia, also a member of the national board, Denise D’Amato, Rosa Milazzo, Vincenza Ricco and Ferdinando Sallustio.
The Italian Movement for Life, born in 1978, has a national network of around 400 centers that promote the culture of life and the right to life “from conception to natural death” by providing qualified healthcare, psychological and economic assistance and support to pregnant women in difficulty, through a network of volunteers who take care of them, without any psychological pressure and respecting women’s freedom of choice.
Italy, as we know, is in the midst of a demographic crisis, with all the effects that can already be seen, and which will be seen more and more on family and collective organisation, if there are no active policies in favor of births. On this specific topic, FederVita Puglia will organize an important conference in the autumn, giving voice to all the political and social forces of the regional territory.
