Truncheon ban, cops are fed up: “Don’t send us anymore”

Don’t send us to make puppets anymore, puppets for the entertainment of four possessed criminals who dress up as students to get away with it. In Turin the other day, yet another act by a handful of “students” including 30 militants from Askatasuna, the violent social center so dear to the mayor of Turin. Nothing but pacifists and students!

But it is the details that make it easier to understand the gravity of what is happening: the barrage of Mobile Department it was specifically deployed in a very distant position from the procession precisely for this reason avoid any type of contact, to avoid offending the susceptibilities of the “poor” students, who have very little as students. However, they promptly moved towards that barrier and began to provoke and violently attack the policemen. Punches and slaps on the helmets, spitting, kicks to the shins, beatings, shoving, insults… These are the students who occupy our schools today, kids who are evidently taught not to respect authority and the law!

This is to make it clear that the clash was sought by the students themselves, as always. In the face of those who accuse us of leaving home with the desire to lead here and there. Then, as can also be heard from the communications and instructions given to the staff on the street, this order also arrived: “Work only with shields, do not use truncheons”. Apart from the fact that it’s called a “baton” and not a truncheon, a jargon that we policemen in the Mobile Units don’t use. But then, I ask myself: what is the truncheon for if not to defend oneself?

We have 7 policemen injured seriously in Turin, we had 16 injured in Rome always with the good “students” (among whom there were also people of retirement age). In short: it is becoming an operational format to “only use shields” and as a result we get hurt and end up in hospital. And finally I ask myself: don’t these officials feel ashamed knowing that they are abandoning their own colleagues at the mercy of a handful of criminals? Do they know that they limit our ability as police officers to stop an attack? Do they know that those who do not prevent one crime from being put to an end cause another? It’s too easy to always punish us front-line policemen.

The good “students” who specifically seek the fight for a bit of fame and glory have won their battle, they have fun, they play at making war by preaching peace, they send the policemen to hospital and return home free and unpunished. And then cheap politicians and collectives go around telling lies about police violence. Don’t send us anymore. Send some puppets in suits and ties with a rose in your hand so the appearance and shape are ensured, this interests you! Because they, the very good and pacifist students, go out with the sole intention of beating up the policemen and having fun: without us the game ends.

But what kind of country has this become? Here, the more you insult the policemen, the more chances you have of becoming a deputy, senator or MEP in the name of a revolution made of hypocrisies and lies. And then peace… we’ve never seen it before preach peace by beating policemen who are there to ensure everyone has the constitutional freedom to express their thoughts. Not the violent one, though! They look for a fight, they attack the policemen shouting for peace on the way to war… more than students they seem like little soldiers.

Don’t send us anymore. I turn to the government: there is no point in expressing solidarity with words if they then arrive orders not to use the “baton” but only the shield, an absolutely passive piece of equipment whose use inevitably causes injuries among those who use it. We have no desire to pay other lawyers, nor do we have any interest in going to hospital with broken bones. Coincidentally, when we are the ones who get hurt, the person responsible is never found and no one pays, but if we are the ones who defend ourselves using the truncheon, the attackers themselves immediately ask us for money and soon become the victims and take civil action.

Other than the identification on the helmet: take that away too and increase our salary, it’s the only way to work peacefully without the mental worry of hurting ourselves a lot and having to spend a lot of money for those who hate us and get away with it. We had asked for Rules of Engagement and Italy practically disarmed the police. This means now total surrender in favor of criminals.
It is a short step from the rule of law to the state of impunity. But the risk is enormous. And at this moment the violence of the violent and their impunity are being legitimized.
