COSENZA – The artist # Luigi Abate he died during the patronal festival of Oriolo, in the province of Cosenza. # The man had just set off a #hot #air balloon he designed – for more than 50 years it has been one of the highlights of the procession of the faithful – when he suddenly collapsed. # The many faithful present at the procession were shocked. # Numerous messages of pain were written on #his Facebook profile: “We would never have imagined that this could be the last ball thrown by you maestro #Gigino Abate”.
The mayor of the small municipality, Simona Colotta, proclaimed citizen mourning on the occasion of the funeral. # In the message from the city administration to Abate’s family it is underlined: “The throwing of the ball into which, since he was a young teenager, he has always put #his craftsmanship, #his competence and #his continuous and incessant commitment to honoring the tradition and love towards our saints”.
The Oriolo band has arranged to meet all the members of the city band for tomorrow, April 26th, for a final musical #farewell in front of Abate’s house “to give a final #farewell to our beloved bandleader”.
