We report an extract of the considerations of our colleague Alessandro Vagliasindi, speaking at Telecolor:
“The current ranking is the appropriate scenario for the value of this team, the worst team in the history of Catania in Serie C. The numbers say it, 17 defeats in Serie C is a historic negative record for Catania. This must once again make us reflect on a season that will certainly leave consequences, regardless of how it ends because it is too sensational and full of errors to go unnoticed by the control room, that of Ross Pelligra, who he will surely have felt disgusted at yet another fool in what was supposed to be the match of certification of permanence and, therefore, of the playoffs. The season has become a nightmare that will last at least until Saturday, when Catania will have the most complicated task of all the other teams in danger. While I think the match against Sorrento was the most manageable match among all the teams involved in the battle for survival, on Saturday Catania will have the most complicated match, because Benevento is fighting for second place.”
“Auteri’s team is perhaps the richest in the entire C team, a team of a level capable of worrying anyoneeven more so this Catania seen against Sorrento and on many other occasions. The biggest regret was having thrown two opportunities in the bin, because at least two draws with Francavilla and Sorrento were enough. In Potenza there was the ideal context against a Sorrento more happy with salvation than looking for a position with a view to the playoffs. Catania was passive, waiting for who knows what.”
”Perhaps the week leading up to the match was also poorly managed. Because if Zeoli’s speech was archived with a statement of apology from the coach alone, it is clear that it was not the best signal that could have been given to the outside world in view of that match. Because, confirming Zeoli, you should have given him 360 degree support, so that statement should have been signed by the club which claimed to have healed the fractures and had full faith in him, or there should also have been a statement from the players, of the captain, by Chiricò. In this way, I believe Zeoli did not feel protected and this was not a good sign from the perspective of that match. Furthermore, the content of that vowel would never have existed if the club had intervened immediately in the Chiricò case in Torre del Greco by taking measures against the playerbecause Zeoli through that vowel essentially highlights that he felt alone in that situation”.
