Among the favorite destinations many have chosen the countryside, wine tourism and local flavors win

Over 700 thousand Italians have chosen the farmhouse for the long weekend of April 25th and May 1st, with the countryside remaining one of the most popular destinations despite doubts about the weather forecast.

At a local level, one in two Alessandria residents (46%) has chosen to celebrate April 25th by taking a walk, a trip out of town or a picnic at the seaside, in the mountains or in the countryside, while one in three (34%) will make a bridge on the occasion of the April 25th and May 1st, taking advantage of the very favorable timing of the days.

The ability to keep food and wine traditions unchanged over time is the quality most appreciated by guests of agritourisms where it is possible to rediscover the flavors of the past truly at zero kilometers handed down for generations”, stated Stefania Grandinetti, provincial and regional president of the Terranostra Campagna agritourism association Friend.

Furthermore, the offer of structures surrounded by greenery allows, in addition to accommodation, lunches or dinners, also includes packed breakfasts or the simple provision of spaces for picnics, tents, caravans and campers, also with the direct sale of products corporate.

“Among the favorite destinations are the cities of art, the sea, the mountains and the countryside, where our Monferrato also plays an important role among the chosen destinations, with spring representing the favorite season for nature lovers with the mild climate , flowering plants but also agricultural activities with land preparation and sowing work – added President Coldiretti Alessandria Mauro Bianco -. The farm offers the opportunity to spend a day away from the cities in the greenery without giving up the comfort and protection from bad weather guaranteed by the hospitality of country businesses”.

An offer that also drives small villages with less than five thousand inhabitants where 92% of typical national products are born according to the Coldiretti/Symbola survey, a wealth preserved over time by agricultural companies with a daily commitment to ensuring the protection of historical crops : the province of Alessandria has 178 small municipalities with less than 5 thousand inhabitants (there are around 5,500 in all of Italy, 1,046 in Piedmont which is the region with the most).
