(LaPresse) New car set on fire during the night in Olbia. Around 2am, the firefighters intervened in a dirt lay-by in Via Barcellona Alta, at the northern exit of the city, limiting the damage to the small car which, however, remains extensive. Investigations into the causes of the fire are underway by the Carabinieri, who are on site carrying out investigations. The small car was parked in an isolated area of the dirt lot in via Barcellona. The timely intervention of the fire brigade limited the damage, even if it remains extensive. The quota of twenty cars set on fire since the beginning of the year in the city of Olbia alone has now been exceeded and both the Carabinieri and the police are conducting investigations to understand the origin of the various episodes – sometimes even connected to each other – recorded in the city in less than four months. The investigators, coordinated by the Tempio Prosecutor’s Office, are thus interviewing numerous witnesses and viewing the images of the video surveillance cameras, a tool that has already proven to be important for some episodes. Arson raids, in the center but also on the outskirts, which often, therefore, could have a common denominator, in a process of settling accounts. A chain of intimidation, warnings and revenge that has been going on since the beginning of 2024.
