While waiting for the Summer Festival which will start on June 20th, an extraordinary concert for the families of the Bellagio Orchestra and Lake Como, strongly desired by the Bellagio parish community, therefore promoted together by the Bellagio Parish with the Municipal Administration, on Sunday April 28 at the Oratory Theater of Visgnola in Bellagio. The concert entitled “Princesses. The soundtracks of animated films”, offers an exclusive production by the Orchestra of Bellagio and Lake Como which will present the music of the Disney princess films, an important resource in the panorama of music applied to images and beyond only. Music by authors who have created unforgettable masterpieces, including the Oscar Award Alan Menkencomposer of the soundtracks of masterpieces such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel, or evenChristophe Beck for Frozen, by Patrick Doyle for Rebel, without neglecting the historic authors of the music and songs of the classics Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.

Between emotions, images and shared memories, the appointment becomes a real one
trip for children and adults that will pervade the atmosphere of childhood, inducing the
public to return to being a child and to dream again of an adventurous and, albeit fraught, life
difficulty, but always with a happy ending. The event is free to enter until seats are filled.

Alessandra Torrani soprano

Special guest the operatic soprano Alessandra Torrani, on the podium of the Orchestra of
Bellagio and Lake Como the musical director M° Alessandro Calcagnile. Born in Cuneo, she began studying piano at a very young age, later graduating from high school in transverse flute. At the age of 23 she obtained a diploma in opera singing at the Conservatory of her hometown with top marks. She made her debut in sacred music at the age of 17, later adding numerous debuts in opera as a light lyric soprano. You have sung for the Accademia della Voce of Turin, the Trentino Opera Festival, I Polifonici del Marchesato, the Festival della Valle d’Itria, the Accademia Stefano Tempia, the Fiati Festival of Ferrandina; he has also collaborated with various theaters and concert halls including Baretti (Turin), Fenaroli (Lanciano), Castello dei Marchesi Alfieri (Asti), Basilica di San Biagio (Tuscany), Garibaldi (Lucera), Nuovo (Milan), Palazzo Cesi (Acquasparta) and has performed with various orchestras, such as the Bartolomeo Bruni, the Sinfonica Estemporanea, the Belcanto Orchestra and Ico della Magna Grecia. She is a soloist and chorister in important choral groups in Piedmont. She is also a singing and choir teacher at the Liceo Musicale of Chivasso.

Alessandro Calcagnile, musical director

A refined interpreter of the modern and contemporary repertoire, after having trained in the Conservatories of Milan, Brescia and Nuremberg, he made his debut as a director at just over twenty years old

From there a brilliant career that will lead him to perform in the most important halls and theaters in the world, until reaching the great hall of Carnegie Hall in New York in 2017. He has collaborated with the I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra, the Cantelli Orchestra of Milan, the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, the Tuscany Regional Orchestra, the I Professori Orchestra of the San Carlo of Naples. President and among the founders of the Contemporary Music Center of Milan, Musical Director of the New MADE Ensemble, Editorial Director of Edizioni Sconfinarte, he is one of the protagonists of contemporary music at a national level and has collaborated with the main living composers. He has recorded for Stradivarius, RAI, Italian Swiss Radio Television, Albanian National Radio Television, Radio Capodistria.

Orchestra of Bellagio and Lake Como

The Bellagio and Lake Como Orchestra collaborates regularly with exceptional conductors and soloists, such as Raffaele Trevisani, Mario Marzi, Roberto Noferini, Fatlinda Thaci. The Orchestra performs regularly in the most evocative historic homes and residences of the Lario, but is also a guest in the main theaters in Lombardy, such as the Teatro Lirico in Milan, Villa Reale in Monza, the Teatro Sociale in Sondrio, the Teatro Bibiena in Mantua, the Teatro Sociale di Como, Villa Manzoni di Lecco, as well as in festivals and events, both in Italy and abroad. The Orchestra combines traditional entertainment programming with projects of a charitable nature, such as the Music in Hospitals review in collaboration with Rotary Clubs and Music Donors. The Orchestra has also presented numerous world premieres of works by contemporary authors to the public. On 30 June 2018, the Bellagio and Lake Como Orchestra was invited by the Consulate General of Italy in Stuttgart, for an event dedicated to Rossini for the sesquicentennial celebrations. The musical direction of the Orchestra is entrusted to the Maestro Alessandro Calcagnile.
