From April 20 to September 1, 2024, Palazzo Blu in Pisa is dedicating an exhibition to Manuele Fior, one of the most highly regarded illustrators on the international scene.

Original plates created for some of the best-known works by Manuele Fioran illustrator who is now among the most appreciated on the international scene, are at the heart of the exhibition Manuele Fior. Journey in Coloredited by Giorgio Bacciwhich opened at Blue Palace in Pisa on April 19, 2024. Manuele Fior (Cesena, 1975), endowed with a fine graphic sensitivity and coloristic power that make him instantly recognisable, works for major Italian and international publishers, and his illustrations appear in Italian and foreign periodicals and newspapers.

He has won numerous prizes and awards, including the coveted Attilio Micheluzzi at Naples Comicon in 2007, 2010 and 2023, Fauve d’Or at the Angouleme International Festival in 2010, and Gran Guinigi for Sole Author at Lucca Comics in 2010.

Before being a full-time comics and illustration author, Fior graduated in architecture from theIuav University in Veniceworked for some time as an architect and traveled the length and breadth of Europe (Oslo, Berlin, Paris) before returning to Venice, where he currently resides.

The dimension of travel, combined with that of an elusive melancholic nostalgia, is constitutive of the works of the author, who fully experienced the boom of the “Erasmus generation” of the 1990s. The one painted by Fior is a complex and articulated galaxy, rich in musical, pictorial and artistic references that rhythmically punctuate the stories, suggesting times of viewing and reading.

The visitor will have the opportunity to conduct in the rooms of Palazzo Blu an amazing “color journey” through places, cities, real and dreamed spaces, according to a circular path that, starting from Celestiawill arrive at Hypericon after The Interview and Five Thousand Kilometers per Second.
